Catechists at St. Anne in Pleasant Prairie, WI are volunteers who help lead children to Jesus. We are seeking both lead catechists and assistant catechists to partner with parents on the faith formation journey of those 3-17 in our parish.Scripture speaks the Truth: "Not many of you should presume to be teachers…because you know that we who teach will be judged more strictly. We all stumble in many ways.” James 3:1-2 “Anyone who runs ahead and does not continue in the teaching of Christ does not have God; whoever continues in the teaching has both the Father and the Son.” 2 John 1:9 STILL, God does not always call the qualified, but instead qualifies the called! The DRE will not assign you to a class until she's had a conversation with you to confirm the best placement. No, but I'm willing to give you my best. My certification has expired, but I have professional teaching experience. Please tell us when and where you were Confirmed Catholic.*We'll work to put together teams at each grade level. Please share your preferences with us.* I prefer to be a lead catechist. I prefer to be an assistant catechist. I prefer to occasionally be a substitute catechist. I prefer to help with special projects. I prefer to be an administrative assistant only. The Archdiocese requires all people working with children to attend a Safe Envirionment Workshop once in their lifetime.* I have already attended a "Safeguarding All of God's Children" Workshop. I will attend the "Safeguarding" workshop at St. Joe's on May 18 and understand that I must register on-line using the link provided. I cannot attend on May 18, but will register for another "Safeguarding" workshop elsewhere and attend before summer ends. I am under 18 and temporarily excused from this training.
